Say-Cheese-Buffalo-logoLet the world see Buffalo through your eyes by capturing the city’s people, places and things with your camera and submitting them to the “Say Cheese, Buffalo!” photo contest. The contest was created by the Buffalo Niagara Convention & Visitors Bureau to capture the essence and beautiful sights of the Buffalo Niagara region. If you love Buffalo and like taking pictures, then this is the contest for you.

“We are always looking for fresh images to sell Buffalo to the world. Who better to help us than our own residents? By recruiting local ambassadors we are actively getting them involved in helping market Buffalo with their creative images,” said Drew Cerza, interim president of the Buffalo Niagara Convention & Visitors Bureau.

“Say Cheese, Buffalo!” is open to photographers of all ages. It’s is an on-going contest that has four periods of entry that correlate with the change of season. Each of the four periods will have a 1st place $100 prize that will be given to the photographer who can best capture the beauty of the Buffalo Niagara region.

Each photo submitted has the chance to be used in various CVB publications and on its website, to promote the area as a fun and exciting place for out-of-town visitors and locals. Judging will take place shortly after the ending date of each contest period.

Contest dates run from July 1, 2009 – September 30, 2009 (summer), October 1, 2009 – December 31, 2009 (autumn), January 1, 2010 – March 31, 2010 (winter) and April 1, 2010 – June 30, 2010 (spring).

Dust off your tripods and use your imagination to help capture the beauty of the region to let others know how wonderful the Buffalo Niagara area is. For more information about the contest visit www.visitbuffaloniagara.com and look for the “Say Cheese, Buffalo!” logo.

While wandering around the dozens of exhibitors and events on Saturday, June 13th at the Juneteenth Festival at Martin Luther King Park, stroll over and see Dionne Williamson and Karen Cox, from the Buffalo Niagara Convention and Visitors Bureau, who will be discussing the variety of free services available and distributing information about the Buffalo Niagara region.

As Multicultural Sales Manager for the organization, Dionne helps bring in family reunions, religious groups, meetings and conventions to Buffalo. She will be available to speak to anyone about questions and needs that they may have when planning a reunion or bringing in a religious group.

Buffalo recently hosted the Travel Professionals of Color (TPOC) conference and will be welcoming such groups as the International Association of Minister’s Wives and Minister’s Widows at the end of June, as well as the National Association of Negro Business & Professional Women’s Clubs, Inc. in July.

Two of the most informative materials that Dionne and Karen will have on hand is the African American Heritage Guide and the “Buffalo Niagara: Feel the Flavor” DVD. The 32-page full color guide provides many valuable resources about the lasting legacy of African American culture and heritage in the Buffalo Niagara area. The guide includes information on historic sites and landmarks, houses of worship and a family reunion and group event planner. While the DVD also highlights African American heritage sites, in addition it showcases other diverse cultures and events.

Fashion-Outlets-logoAfter almost two years of renovation, the Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls has repositioned and added over 60 new designer stores. They are now ready to announce their new look, new stores and so much more!

The Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls have set Thursday July 16-19, 2009 as their Celebration! This will be a grand reopening with a huge promotional and advertising campaign. With a theme of “more for you” and with the economy as it is, they will be offering free daily give a-ways, bonuses and prizes to shoppers throughout the weekend and of course fabulous outlet shopping! The Outlets will target WNY and Southern Ontario with TV, radio, print and social media.

Julie Clark, Marketing Director with the Fashion Outlets, would like to be able to give away throughout the days tickets to local attractions. In return, donating attractions would get announcements and a listing on their outdoor LED Video Screen.

Those attractions interested should contact Julie Clark at jclark@fashionoutlets.com or call her at 716-205-1802
